Today's Devotional

Sometimes prospective Christians are driven away by the idea of self-sacrifice. They are frightened by the idea of denying themselves, and are so lost. This is a false idea. Jesus asks us to give up worldly possessions for a robe of righteousness and eternal life. He also promises that what we give up down here, we will receive manifold more in the present time and in the world to come. This is not self-sacrifice; this is a wonderful gift and opportunity shown to us by Christ. We should take advantage of this, and exchange our worthless riches for life everlasting.
Luke 18:29,30 -  And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
